Old School Carp Fishing
Each fishery has its own rules and every lake owner has different ideas about how to run their own lake. These rules exist purely to protect our fishery and stock.
We endeavour to cover all potential problems which can (and do) occur from time to time. It is easier for all if everything is laid out in writing.
Clients are sent a copy of the rules for reference when a booking is confirmed.
A safety check on rigs and setup will be made before you start fishing - we may ask you to modify your setup, which should include only the items of tackle listed below.
This is a serious carp fishery and we expect anglers to turn up with suitable high quality carp fishing gear.
If you are unsure about anything listed below we will be more than happy to advise - there is a sensible and tangible explanantion for each and every rule ;

REELS - Big pit type reels are required. No small or standard size 5000-10000 baitrunner type reels.This has
nothing to do with distance casting but the retrieve rate of these bigger reels and the front drag
system is neccessary for keeping large powerful fish under control.
LINES minimum 14lb (0.33mm absolute minimum) - nylon monofilament and flourocarbon mainlines only.
END TACKLE Simple running or semi-fixed rigs only. Helicopter/chod/zig rigs are prohibited.
