Rules

The extent to which fishery rules have to be made largely depends on the nature of the anglers visiting the fishery. Over the years we have seen everything
from absolute novices to top flight carpers. Whilst we are now trying to be more selective in terms of who fishes at Les Croix, we still feel that it is neccessary
to be very clear about what is required at this fishery. If you are an experienced carp angler, most of what is written below will be obvious....

I look forward to the day, hopefully in the near future when we can do away with most of the rules but unfortunately it is not yet possible....

The rules exist only to protect our fishery and to ensure that the carp remain in pristine condition - we hope that anglers considering visiting Les Croix
will realise this. If however you disagree with our rules or you are unable to put the welfare of the carp first, then do not ask to book a holiday with us.

The rules are strictly enforced at Les Croix and we reserve the right to change them from time to time when neccessary.

You will be sent a copy of the rules when your booking is confirmed. We will check your setup and rigs before you start fishing.

On arrival you will be asked to sign a copy stating that you have read and understand them. If you are unsure about anything, please ask !

Persons who subsequently break rules will be asked to leave the fishery, and no refund will be given .

ANGLING RULES
Running or semi-fixed rigs only (inline or safety clip system) Helicopter/chod rigs are prohibited. 3oz leads maximum.
3 rods per angler, minimum 14lb line (0.33mm absolute minimum) - monofil and flourocarbon mainlines only. No shock leaders.
Nothing must be fixed above the hooklink swivel, and tubing/leadcore/safety leader must be used above the lead to protect the fish during capture. We recommend the use of a fused nylon leader (KORDA Safe Zone/TFG Secret Trap/NASH Diffusion etc) as this will allow you to cut the line without the need to re-thread tubing .
Only mono, flourocarbon, and coated braid hooklinks are permitted.
Coated braid hooklinks (Fox coretex/ESP strip-teaze/Nash missing link etc) must not be stripped back from the hook. Combi rigs using braid are not allowed.
Barbless hooks only  - maximum hook size 6. No long shank hooks. Shrink tube or silicon tube must be used over the eye of the hook.
Carp of 30lbs and above must be kept in the landing net in the water and the owners notified by 2-way radio (provided). The carp must not leave the water until we are in the swim with you. This rule may be relaxed at the owners discretion.
Anglers must be in possesion of and use NASH MEDI CARP or KRYSTON SHIELD antiseptic treatment on all hookholds and any visible body damage.
Only fresh/frozen boilies from Premier Baits and the pellets sold on site are permitted. Particle and nut baits prohibited.
Please do not take bait into the accommodation and do not throw bait into the lake at the end of your session. Freezer facilities are available at the house.
Rods with a medium/soft action and good quality medium to big pit size reels please.
Bait boats are allowed.
Crocs or waders are often neccessary late in the season as the water level falls a little, it is then neccessary to enter the water to net and to return the fish.
As all 40lb+ fish must be weighed and photographed in the water you may wish to bring waders with you.
