A Memorable Second Week

Jim's second week at Les Croix was just as thrilling as the first! The conditions were more favorable this time, with some rain and gentle southwest breezes. This combination created an ideal atmosphere for fishing. The results were impressive, too. A total of 29 carp were caught during this week, including 4 fish over 40 pounds and 9 over 30 pounds. There were also plenty of upper 30s, leading to a fantastic average size of fish.

Positive Trends in the Catch

What’s even more exciting is that nearly all the doubles were above 15 lbs. This shows that the fish population is thriving and moving in the right direction. Notably, there were no single-digit catches this week, which is a great sign for the health of the lake. A few recaptures occurred, unlike in the first week, indicating that the fish are becoming more familiar with the area.

Overall Impressive Results

Over the entire fortnight, Jim managed to catch 61 carp in total. Remarkably, there were no singles among them. The breakdown includes 9 fish over 40 pounds and 17 over 30 pounds. Jim's fishing hours were less than on previous trips, averaging from 09:00 to 17:00. He used just 2 rods, which allowed for a very relaxed approach. His results demonstrate that Les Croix is a venue where fantastic daytime fishing can be enjoyed.
