Jim and Helen Nicholson were back once more at Les Croix for their annual autumn fortnight, these two weeks being their 33rd and 34th at the venue !
The first week provided 7 days of beautiful sunshine, cool mornings but with warm sunshine later in the day. Far from what one would call ideal fishing conditions, but having started the week with a fish just under 50lbs, Jim went on to catch a total of 32 fish...an excellent result and a very enjoyable week's fishing with plenty of larger specimens included in the catch, 5 x 40's, 8 x mid 30's and a mixed bag of 20's and doubles, all fish in superb condition, even if a few were a little behind the curve in getting the weight back on.
Being able to have a lie in, start fishing at 9AM and fish until 6 or 7PM and still catch 32 fish in a week is a luxury that would be difficult if not impossible to find elsewhere, and is largely down to the management of the venue, lake and fish being rested in between angler visits.
Week number two with some more unsettled conditions follows !
